Flaming Gorge/Firehole Canyon

It has been a while since Dan and I have taken to the open road for more than a 2-hour drive. This weekend we voyaged to Salt Lake City — but on our way to Utah we camped in Wyoming in a beautiful area of Flaming Gorge called Firehole Canyon.

It was a perfect excursion for the rooftop tent. When we recently camped in Rocky Mountain National Park we discovered we needed more bedding; this time we added mattress pads and the experience was greatly improved. The weather was also warm enough that our teeth didn’t chatter through the night, but cool enough that the campsite wasn’t buggy or humid.

After an overnight in Wyoming, we hit the road for Utah — more pictures tomorrow!

Hello, gorgeous.
