The shop made me miss the collection of Coca-Cola merchandise my dad used to collect as a hobby.
As we were leaving, I asked the proprietor if I could snap a picture of him — it’s clear from his apron and Snidely Whiplash mustache that he’s an active part of the kitsch. “Should I hold the phone?”
He is currently working on recreating a Woolworth’s lunch counter — some authentic cardboard artwork had shown up just that morning.
