Garden of Lights is back! The Gardens on Spring Creek have spent the past year under renovation, and this winter they have doubled the size of their Garden of Lights walk-through holiday lighting show. (See last year’s photos here.)

The highlight of my visit this year was, of all things, Santa. We visited on a quiet night at the Gardens, and there was no line to chat with Santa. When I told him I wanted poetry books for Christmas, Santa recited — on the spot — Robert Frost’s poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Each time the poem mentions horses, Santa swapped in reindeer.
We recited the final lines together.
